House Sadeas
The story behind the name
The green hive was named House Sadeas after the noble house in the fantasy series The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson. Likewise, the queen of the hive has been named Torol Sadeas after the highprince that leads the house, who is also an antagonist in the series. The hive consists of VSH (Varroa Sensitive Hygiene) bees, which are oftentimes more aggressive than the buckfast bees that are in House Kholin, so it is only fitting that this hive should be named after the villains.
This hive lives up to its name and is significantly more active than House Kholin. However, this is partially due to the fact that House Sadeas gets more sunlight on average. This hive has also faced its fair share of trials, having been infested with carpenter ants twice. Luckily, the bees were able to hold them off and defeat them in a epic battle of good vs evil.
VSH Bees
VSH (Varroa Sensitive Hygiene) is a behavior trait in honeybees which makes them remove mites from their brood nest. Varroa mites are parasites of adult honeybees and can overwhelm colonies. However, VSH bees have adapted to combat this.
The VSH bees of House Sadeas are a lively bunch, often found sunning themselves around the pool, yelling insults to the chickens who strut by.
